When I heard the news that Space Hulk was coming out with a new edition I knew that I had to reserved my copy with Mayhem, my friendly local game store. There is far too much nostalgia that surrounds this game for me. This was my first introduction into the Warhammer 40,000 universe during my outcast new kid days in Middle School. I remember picking up the first edition at the Gameshop and I instantly fell in love with the everything Games Workshop. The components were so cool and so much darker that the typical family games that I regularly played. My miniature war gaming addiction began that day and has continued until now.
I still have my copy of Space Hulk and Genestealer with my poorly painted figures. I also stumbled across the Space Hulk Campaign book that I picked up. I was never able to find a copy of Deathwing which would have completed my set. Don’t worry I didn’t torch my retro set, but looking at the new pieces you can see how I might want to erase them from existence.
I just assembled and prime all of my new figures and I’m looking for a few good opponents.
