I’m loving Batman Arkham Asylum. My only complaint is that the Unreal Engine turns every surface in the game into a shiny gloss. Normally matte surfaces like skin and fabric seem to reflect light like they were chrome treated. This effect is really distracting, but luckily the story and game play make up for the ultra reflective 3D models. The added bonus of having Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy voicing The Joker and Batman make this game a treat for fans of the Animated Series. The game uses an amazing mix of Stealth, Brawler, RPG, Exploration and Detective games to create a truly unique adventure. Easily one of the best games of the summer, if you have a Xbox 360 or a PS3 do yourself a favor and check this one out.
Regrettably, I was unable to attend this year’s GENCON but through Tabletop Gaming News I was able to follow all of the new games announced and released. One of my favorite gaming companies, Privateer Press had a little trouble rolling out it’s Series 3 Strategy Guide for Monsterpocalypse, it was flagged by Homeland Security which in turn delayed it’s release. More about this story can be found on Privateer’s website. I decided to poke a little fun at the government for cracking down on a beer and pretzels miniature game. Green Fury Forever!
Yeah, I’m one of those Iowans that hates the State Fair…Nuff said.
I would like to thank everyone who has posted comments and linked to the site from their personal blogs/facebook pages. I really appreciate the buildup of the community and I hope that this little endeavor reaches a Penny Arcade level with merchandise and massive Iowa geekfest conventions awaiting us in the future or maybe we can all meet up at Perkins. Either way, what lies ahead is exciting and I hope you will all be there for the future of Geeko System.
I’m going to return to the regular weekly update. But don’t surprised if I slip in another midweek comic.
Sorry for the delay to the strip, I guess I was a little tired and fell asleep drawning last night. What did you expect from a free comic? Well it’s finially here…Enjoy!
As promised the next installment of Geeko System has arrived on schedule. One of the the four make up strips that I need to complete to get back on schedule.
I’m still experimenting with my creation process. This time I penciled and inked the comic by hand. This seems to be the fastest method for me so far. I’m aiming for another strip to be up on Wednesday. Until then send me your questions and comments to my email or twitter. Enjoy!
Another zoo adventure is here! I’m going to try to up my schedule to make up for the missed weeks. I’m hoping to update the site with new strips Monday & Wednesday this week so stop back often.
Rumor has it that Apple Computer will be releasing a new 9″ or 10″ tablet computer at the end of this year or early next year. I’m very excited for the new tablet but what space will this new product fill?…keyboard free netbook?…HD Media player?…the biggest cell phone since Lethal Weapon? Who knows? As an Apple fanatic I will be in line launch day. What are your thoughts?

Another week, another comic. I always wanted a zoo of fantasy creatures, I think this comes from a scene in The Last Unicorn where Mommy Fortuna’s sideshow carnival displays all types of enchanted creatures. Growing up in small-town Iowa, I must have watched that movie a hundred times with my younger sister…good memories. I’m not sure it would hold up now but it was an inspiring movie for me in the early eighties. More zoo adventures to come next week.
