Blizzard Build Order

If there is one thing that Blizzard knows it’s their customers and they love to cater to the fanatics.  I love Blizzard’s Collectors Editions and I can’t wait to get my hands on World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.  This boxed set is packed to the brim and will make any old school P.C. gamer smile.

WOW Cataclysm Collector's Edition Box
WORLD OF WARCRAFT®: CATACLYSM COLLECTOR’S EDITION ANNOUNCED IRVINE, CA – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced plans for a limited-release Collector’s Edition of World of Warcraft®: Cataclysm™, the third expansion for the world’s most popular subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game,* World of Warcraft. Dastardly Deeds

Dastardly Deeds

Wow, it’s been quite a while since my last comic.  A lot has happened in the last two months.  Quick recap is that my wife and I enjoyed a fantastic Las Vegas trip to the new Aria hotel at CityCenter.  After 5 years at our home we finally had some long overdue landscaping installed.  Lots of work changes that I won’t bore you with.  All the while my drawing time has been limited so I decided to take a break.

I did get some quality gaming during my time off.  World of Warcraft is still going strong with my Deeprun Tram Security’s Monday night raids.  I’ve finished Darksiders, Half Life 2 on the Orange Box & Dark Void.  My latest love is the subject of this weeks comic.  Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption is outstanding…I never thought I would be so hooked on a western-themed game.  I just finished the main story and now I’m looking to reach 100% completion.  Get this game, if you don’t own a 360 or a PS3 go out and buy a system and get this game.

More comics and more gaming is on my agenda.  Have a happy E3 week!

The Polygon Temptation

PC gaming is finally back for me and I have a ton of catch up to do on the triple A games that have been out for a while.  I really picked up this PC for the upcoming Blizzard titles, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.  I should have Windows 7 figured out by the time they ship.

How To Train Your Dad To Be A Dragon

How To Train Your Dad To Be A Dragon

Hey, I made it to comic number 30. I feel bad for missing last Wednesday so I have a double sized comic for you inspired by Dreamworks latest animated feature How To Train Your Dragon.  The movie was beautifully animated and story kept my three-year old at the edge of his seat.  We opted for the 3D version and I was really impressed with the environmental set pieces and the use of depth of field.  There were moments in the action where the 3D can really reinforce the danger surrounding the audience in burning embers and ash.

The only compliant that I have is that other than the main Night Fury dragon, I didn’t really care for the other creature designs.  However, I think that viking characters easily make up for the weaker designs.

I highly recommend checking this one out.   Dreamworks has a great style and I think that this film is a close second to Kung Fu Panda.

Pandora Predicament

Pandora Predicament

I thought that it was a little strange that both Borderlands and Avatar used Pandora as the name of their story’s planet.  Both have a megalomaniacal private military general in a mech suit.  Throw in a few big blue aliens and there might be an intellectual property war.

I’m grateful that Gearbox is supporting the game with downloadable content, its one of the features that keeps me coming back.  I hope, with a little help from my LIVE friends, that I’m able to level high enough to see the big bad KNOXX.

Enjoy the 29th comic and Geeko System’s new web look.  More improvements to the website are on the way.

Some Side Effects

Some Side Effects

I’m currently playing through Dark Void from developer AirTight Games.  I think that creative team really pulled off that rocketeer feeling of blasting through canyons.  The Vertical Cover was very interesting way to move the Gears of War cover system to the z-plane.  I really like what I’ve played so far and I’m looking forward to finishing  the game.

To The Victor Goes The Spoiled Spoils

Would the years of being locked in Singe’s bubble cage take it’s toll on Daphne’s good looks? – I had a blast drawing this strip..this has to be one of my favorites so far.

Thanks for all of the kind words of encouragement from everyone.  My page views and visitor numbers have exploded over the last few months.  I was giddy a month ago, breaking into the top 1,ooo on the webcomic list and the comic continues to climb, as I type this Geeko System is Ranked: 773/15422.  Again, thanks to everyone that’s helping to spread the word about the site.

I’m only three comics away from 30, which is the magic number when this turns from hobby to something a little more serious.  More to come…stay tuned!

There’s An App For That

I don’t want to know how many quarters I plunked into Dragon’s Lair over the years.  A $5 app store investment was an easy choice to finally plunge the magic sword into Singe.

Culture Shock

Bayonetta has to be one of the strangest games I’ve ever played on my Xbox 360.  I really liked what Platinum Games did with this new I.P. and I hope that sales are high enough keep this development team alive.  It’s not everyday that you fight a double headed dragon with a upside down human face for a stomach while falling though space riding on a destroyed cathedral scored to J-Pop Mall music.  ( inhale ) Thanks for publishing this one SEGA…I would have loved to have been in the room when Platinum pitched this oddity.

C.S.I. Heavy Rain

C.S.I. Heavy Rain

I just started playing Heavy Rain on my PS3.  I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played so far, but it’s hard to recommend.  The opening is a slow burn intended to get you connected to the character and his family’s tragic storyline.  So far it feels pretty linear but I’m excited to see where Quantic Dream’s story takes me.

Can you catch the Origami Killer?
