Imagine Minecraft as a space exploration game. Expand it to a galactic scale with next gen graphics. Sounds a little unbelievable, however, Hello Games unveiled a beautiful trailer for No Man’s Sky at VGX.
I really like their description on the studio’s website: “A science fiction game, set in an infinite, procedural universe. Developed by Hello Games, a small indie studio.” Digging a little deeper I see that the team is FOUR people, I was blown away. Watch the trailer a second time and try to figure out how a four person team built such a jaw dropping game. Not only are the visuals great, but the music was right up my alley. Hopefully I will be light speeding through procedural space with some more killer tracks. This is defiantly on my watch list.
Every planet procedural.
Every planet unique.
Every planet unexplored.
Every penny will be well spent.
Ubisoft has captured all of the best ’80s action movies and combined them into a fantastic looking shooter. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon will be cyber clawing it’s way onto XBLA, PSN, PC on May 1st. Even better new is that the voice acting of the main character, Rex Power Colt, is done by Michael Biehn. Yes! Hicks from Aliens and Reese from Terminator. How should they go about promoting this neon infused game? How about a Filmation-style VHS trailer of the game’s story with bad tracking. This looks fantastic I can’t wait dive into this 80s-inspired near future!

I’ve been a Bungie fan for quite some time, I loved the Myth series and I still remember their original Apple press conference presentation of HALO. They were the reason I waited up for the midnight launch of the original XBOX. This little ViDoc for their next IP, Destiny, has me drooling for more information. I can’t wait to see how they pull off a persistent-world console shooter. This has a feel of a MMO wold the action of a FPS and the most reassuring thing I heard was Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg’s statement claiming “absolutely no plans to charge a subscription fee.”
I think that Bungie has all of the pieces for their next Blockbuster and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
